On Saturday, 5th July 2025, following a spirited performance against St. Joseph’s College, the Sri Sumangala College rugby team was welcomed by afi for a special post-match dinner at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
While the scoreboard may not have reflected the outcome they hoped for, the young men of Sumangala carried themselves with resilience, determination, and pride. Their unwavering commitment to the game, despite the result, is what truly defines their spirit, and it’s exactly the kind of attitude afi believes in supporting.
The evening at The Kingsbury was a moment to pause, reflect, and revive. Players, coaches, and staff came together to enjoy good food and great company, taking in the encouragement and support around them. It was more than just a dinner. It was a chance to reset and gear up for the next chapter.
The upcoming Plate round offers a fresh opportunity, and Team Sumangala is far from finished. With sharpened focus and renewed energy, they are preparing to take the field again with even more fire.
