At AFI, we believe that giving back is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to build stronger, healthier, and more hopeful communities. Guided by this belief, our AFI Cares initiative continues to drive meaningful change through projects that promote health, accessibility, and well-being across Sri Lanka.
For our August 2025 project, AFI Cares partnered with the Faika and Hamdoon Endowment for the Restoration of Sight to support their Eye Camp held in Malwana. The camp provided essential eye care services to underserved communities, giving individuals access to screenings, treatment, and support to restore or improve their vision.
As part of this initiative, AFI Corp hosted a Falooda Dansala at the event. A simple yet heartfelt gesture designed to bring comfort and refreshment to everyone attending. Throughout the day, our team served traditional falooda to patients, volunteers, and caregivers, offering a moment of sweetness and relief amid the day’s activities. This act reflected AFI’s belief that care extends beyond medical attention; it also encompasses compassion, kindness, and community spirit.
The event was filled with warmth and gratitude, as volunteers and participants shared stories and smiles. For many, the Dansala represented more than just a treat. It symbolized hope, unity, and the strength of collective goodwill.
Through projects like this, AFI Cares continues to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. Each initiative under AFI Cares is designed to make a lasting, measurable impact by promoting well-being, and ensuring that even the simplest acts of kindness are delivered with care, dignity, and sustainability in mind.
The Malwana Eye Camp Falooda Dansala stands as another example of how small actions can create meaningful change. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Faika and Hamdoon
Endowment for the Restoration of Sight for their remarkable work, and to our dedicated AFI team members who helped bring this initiative to life.
